Caleb Plant Defeats Caleb Truax To Remain IBF Super-Middleweight Champion
Caleb Plant won a 12 round unanimous decision over Caleb ‘Golden’ Truax in what was a dominant and one sided fight. Plant was too good, too skilled and over matched match for Traux.
The fight was a PBC show which was broadcasted live on Fox and took place at the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles.
The judges scorecard were: 120-108, 120-108 and 120-108 all in favor of Caleb Plant.
Plant displayed an excellent jab through the fight and threw the jab often to control both the distance and the fight. Plant didn’t throw many power punches but as he stated in a post-fight interview, he hurt his hand early in the fight and this may be why there weren’t many power punches from him.
‘I kind of hurt my hand early in the fight. I was a little hesitant at times but I feel like I put on a great performance’ said Plant to Fox PBC after the fight.

With a Canelo fight on the horizon, Plant has time to allow his hand to heal and get another fight under his belt before testing his skills against the Mexican superstar – should Canelo overcome Avni Yildririm and Billy Joe Saunders.
Canelo has clearly stated his desire is to unify the super-middleweight division, which means he must face Plant for his IBF belt at some stage. But Canelo has a tough fight against Billy Joe Saunders to win first and Plant would back himself to equally provide a stiff test and fight for the Mexican to overcome.
