Canelo Alvarez’s trainer Eddy Reynoso has responded to David Benavidez’s comments, whereby he claims Canelo has avoided him.
This is not the first time the former WBC super-middleweight champion Benavidez has called out his fellow Mexican for a fight and if both were to be world champions at the same time, this would be a mega fight to host in their native mexico
“I feel like I give Canelo the best fight out of anybody, and I feel like his team knows that too. That’s the reason why they’re kind of avoiding me” said Benavidez told Fox Sports PBC
Canelo’s trainer Eddy Reynoso responded on social media by stating: “We do not avoid anyone. 2 times losing the title below of the ring answers your concern, champ. Regards,” said @Caneloteam… Making reference to Benavidez failing to make weight for championship fight weigh-in
If a bout between the two Mexicans was to occur, it would likely take place next year in 2022, as its widely known that Canelo’s aim for this year is to unify the super-middleweight division. This includes world title unification bouts with WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders & IBF champion Caleb Plant
