In what was a highly skilled, technical and aggressive welterweight world title clash – it ended in explosive fashion in the tenth round. Porter brought the war as labelled on his fight shorts and Crawford displayed his physical strength and spitefulness in response
Whilst Porter used smart controlled aggression, Crawford was intelligent & aggressive with his boxing, and countered Porter’s attacks. There were clashes of heads which caused cuts for both men but nothing to disable either man from their fight game plan
In the 8th round big punches were exchanged; Porter with looping big right hands and Crawford landing heavy body punches
In the 10th round, Crawford ended the fight – he dropped Porter twice, the first was caused by an uppercut and the second was a big right hand. The fight was waved off by the referee when Porter’s father threw in the towel – possibly to save his son’s fight for another day, for another fight.
Crawford Retains His WBO Welterweight World Title and Becomes The First Man To Stop Shawn Porter
Terence Crawford is surely the best welterweight champion at the minute after such a performance
And surely Crawford’s name MUST be in the debate for the current P4P Best boxer
