Dana White Still In Talks With Floyd Mayweather About Boxing Return
Speaking to TMZ, UFC president reported that he is still in talking with Floyd Mayweather Jr about a return to boxing. Dana White is also the president of Zuffa, a boxing promotional company which falls under the UFC umbrella and his venture into the boxing market was slowed due to the global pandemic.
Floyd Mayweather’s last fight within the squared circle was in 2017 against two time UFC Champion Conor McGregor and it is reported that Mayweather earned over $300 million, while McGregor earned around $100 million.
When TMZ asked about Mayweather teasing fans about a possible return to boxing, White replied, ‘Floyd and I syill have dialogue and go back & forth, we’re still interested on both sides – It’s very possible’
When asked about a Mayweather McGregor boxing rematch, ‘He (Floyd) would rematch Conor McGregor but Conor is retired, when I’m doing things right now, running the business I don’t think about Conor… he’s retired’
Should Mayweather retire, it be fair not to expect the former five division world champion to take a high level competitive fight. The last top level fight Mayweather contested was a points decision victory over Manny Pacquiao five years ago in 2015.
