Klitschko Brothers Request America Ban Dmitry Bivol From Canelo Fight In May
Former heavyweight champions Vitaly and Wladimir Klitschko are demanding that authorities in America ban Russian fighter Dmitry Bivol from his scheduled bout with Canelo Alvarez on May 7th in Las Vegas.
The Mexican superstar and active pound for pound best, Canelo choose to challenge Bivol for his WBA light-heavyweight world title after agreeing a two fight deal with promoter Eddie Hearn.
Ukraine is currently under attack from Russia due to conflict over NATO ties as well as oil and gas reserves and both Klitschko brothers are now fighting on the front line with their fellow countrymen. Older brother Vitaly, is the Mayor of capital city Kyiv. Both brother have openly requested that all Russian athletes be excluded from all international competition.
‘It is important that this boxer (Dmitry Bivol) is forbidden from fighting in America, just as all Russian athletes are being banned from international competition’ – said Wladimir and his brother made a similar statement, ‘This is not against the individual sportsman but Ukraine needs the world to apply every pressure on Russia’
