Lomachenko With Masterclass Performance To Beat Nakatani
Absolute masterclass performance from Vasiliy Lomachenko as he dominated every minute of the fight against Japan’s Masayoshi Nakatani
Vasiliy Lomachenko sealed a ninth-round stoppage win in Las Vegas to stake a claim for a rematch with Teofimo Lopez after losing his world lightweight titles to the rival in October 2020.
The referee stopped the bout in the ninth round after the Ukrainian battered and dominated Nakatani for the vast majority of the bout. The stoppage gave Loma a TKO victory on his ring return – the Matrix has been reloaded.

Post-fight, Lomachenko called for a rematch with the Brooklyn man Lopez, who is scheduled to defend his WBA, IBF and WBO belts in a rearranged fight with IBF mandatory challenger George Kambosos Jr – the original date was moved when Lopez tested positive for Covid.
“Everybody saw me, everybody saw how I won and everybody has been waiting for the rematch, so let’s make a rematch,” said Lomachenko.
“He has a fight in the future with Kambosos but after, how about after? December, January, February. I am waiting.”
