Luke Campbell Says Ryan Garcia’s Social Media Following Won’t Help Him
Luke Campbell and Ryan Garcia, if a deal can be agreed, could soon be fighting for the interim WBC 135-pound title. The winner would then be the mandatory challenger for WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney.
Eddie Hearn and Golden Boy promotions are yet to agree terms for a fight between the two boxers but Campbell has started pre fight trash talk by stating the Ryan Garcia’s popular social media will not help him in fight with him.
“He has a hell of a following but they won’t help him in the ring. It’s hard to see what they are about until they have been in the ring with someone of quality who has a good CV’’ Luke Campbell told SkySports.
Campbell has previously faced Lomachenko and Linares in championships fights, and gained much respect within boxing for those performances. Campbell questions Garcia and Haney’s lack of championship level experience.
‘’By the amount of fights they [Ryan and Devin Haney] have had, I had already beaten two former world champions. Neither of them have fought a former world champion yet. Time will tell.”
