Mikey Garcia Wants Errol Spence Jr Rematch or Yordenis Ugas Fight Next
The former four division world champion Mikey Garcia has started training after nearly a year off during the covid-19 pandemic.
The American Mexican is seeking a return to action as soon as possible and wants a high profile but accepts he needs to earn the right to demand big fights first.
Speaking to ESNEWS, when asked about Errol Spence Jr, Garcia replied ‘I’d be interested in a rematch, but he’s not going to be interested in a rematch. I got to earn the spot. I got to win one or two fights’
Garcia then went on to add, when asked about fighting rival Ugas – ‘Possibly but is Ugas going to fight me? He might be interested in fighting someone else thinking he’s going to get the Spence fight’
‘He (Ugas) might decide to take someone else, I don’t know and its not just what we want, its what other people want. That’s what makes it complicated to get (big fights)’ said Mikey.
Mikey Garcia’s last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Jessie Vargas in February 2020 and has a record of 40 wins, 30 KO’S and his only defeat was to Errol Spence Jr in March 2019.
