IBF ranked number 2 Filip Hrgovic (14-0, 12 KO’s) looks likely to face off against IBF ranked number 2 Tony Yoko (11-0, 9 KO’s) in a final eliminator bout – for a shot at the IBF world title
The two unbeaten heavyweights have met three times in the amateurs, with the Frenchman winning two of the three bouts.
They first met in the final of the 2010 Youth World Amateur Boxing Championship and Hrgovic was victorious via a points decision.
Second bout was at the 2015 European Games and Yoka won on a split-decision. And the third was the semifinal of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, which Yoka won again on a split-decision. The French man went on to win the gold medal at the Olympics but many onlookers believe Joe Joyce won the final.
Both men are very talented and skilled operators and are classically sized modern heavyweights, with Hrgovic standing at 6’6ft tall and Yoka 6’7ft. Both also boost a knockout ratio of over 80% in the pro ranks.
