Shawn Porter Still Wants The Terence Crawford Fight
In recent weeks, Shawn Porter has openly spoken about his desire to test himself against WBO welterweight champion and one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in boxing; Terence Crawford.
Porter recently suggested Bob Arum offered him a ‘lowball’ $1million dollars to fight Crawford and this suggests that Arum is either not keen on the fight or doesn’t want to pay Porter highly.
Bob Arum it seems is keen to land Crawford a bigger fight and that’s securing a unification bout with Errol Spence Jr before any other fight.
A fight with Spence Jr would make more business sense, as this is a fight many boxing fans want to see and would offer both boxers a chance to unify the division further with their IBF, WBC and WBO world titles on the line.
With the covid restrictions in place and crowds not being fully allowed to visit arenas at the moment, such a fight might be put on hold until this is possible again; in order to maximize profits and revenue from such a huge fight.
When Porter was asked who he wants to fight next on the AK & Barak Show, he replied, ‘it’s Terence Crawford’
‘I’ve not given up on that fight. I’ve had conversations with my dad, ‘Go get that fight, that’s the fight for me’, so my dad’s working’ said former two-time welterweight champion Shawn Porter
