Terence Crawford Talks Canelo: ‘He’s Shied Away From Jermall Charlo & Andrade – From Black Fighters’
Terence Crawford has suggested in a recent interview that Mexican boxing super star Canelo Alvarez has avoided Jermall Charlo and Demetrius Andrade, and black fighters in general. This is a surprising statement and has caused much of a stir online with many attacking Crawford’s resume and others defending his comments.
“He’s (Canelo) shied away from Jermall Charlo and Andrade for a long time. When you look at Canelo’s career, it’s like he’s shied away from the black fighters. I think the black fighters give him the most problems.” – Terence Crawford said the SiriusXMBoxing Show Via DAZN

When looking at Canelo’s professional boxing record, it’s difficult to agree with Crawford’s comments. The Mexican fought a prime Floyd Mayweather when he was fairly young and inexperienced, and he has beaten a number of black boxers from Daniel Jacobs, Shane Mosley, Austin Trout, James Kirland and more.
Does Terence genuinely believe in his comment or is there a hint of envy or rivalry as many fans and pundits consider Canelo to be the current number one pound-for-pound boxer with Crawford as number two.
It will be interesting to see if Canelo or his team respond to Crawford’s comments.
